Just a note of thanks to all those who have signed the online HPV petition over the past few months. We especially thank those who have shared personal experiences in the comments section and we can tell that this issue is still at the forefront of the public opinion as signatures keep coming in every day.

We would urge you to keep the pressure on your public representatives about this issue as it wont be long till they are knocking on your door looking for your votes.

Thanks for the support and the petition will close on Christmas Eve when it will be sent to Leinster House.

Newsflash

The planned HPV vaccination programme for girls to protect against cervical cancer has been cancelled by the Government. Health Minister Mary Harney has announced that the programme to vaccinate 12-year-old girls against the HPV virus that causes cervical cancer, which was to have begun from next September, will not go ahead.
