What a joke this is. We are allowing the powers that be close our 24 hour a&e service. and yet the banks are being bailed out by the taxpayer. Mary Harney will not be effected by this cut back as she lives in Dublin. Dundalk is such a big area. She could not give a toss about the people in Dundalk who will no longer have access to 24 hour a&e care. Shame on her and the rest of them. |

It is an absolute sin to close this A&E. As a student midwife I think the Louth should provide maternity services for the people of Dundalk. I am appalled that not only is this not going to happen but that they are actually closing a badly needed life saving service.. its ridiculous..
Lives will needlessly be lost because of this. |

I think that it is disgraceful that a town of this size should be without an acute Hospital considering that there is quite an aged community who having worked all their lives and paying their taxes, now, when they are most in need of it they are being left high and dry in the case of an emergency. Considering a lot of such people are without private health insurance/transport/and family, as they have had to move elsewhere to find employment. I fear for my own future, considering my age. |

This hospital saved my father and nursed him through many illnesses until his death in 2000. It saved my mother and is currently nursing her needs. Who will save me and my children? Please see sense. It is our health service make it work for us not against us. |
